Gallerie dell'Accademia
Save Venice has financed the restoration of twenty paintings in the Accademia Galleries, located at the foot of the Accademia Bridge on the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro. This museum houses masterpieces from the 1300s to 1800s, including works by Bellini, Giorgione, Carpaccio, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Veronese,and Tiepolo. Current renovations, expected to finish in June 2012, to the ground floor space formerly occupied by the Accademia School of Fine Arts will will provide additional gallery space for visitors to view the Accademia’s stunning collection.
