San Polo
Although San Polo is the smallest of the six sestiere of Venice, it is also one of the oldest parts of the city, with settlements dating to before the ninth century. San Polo begins at the western foot of the Rialto Bridge and is home to the Rialto fish and produce markets and includes such landmarks as the churches of San Polo and Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco.
