Located at the foot of the Accademia Bridge on the Campo della Carità, the Accademia Galleries house masterpieces from the 1300s to 1700s, including works by Bellini, Giorgione, Carpaccio, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Veronese and Tiepolo. In 1807 a Napoleonic decree closed the Church of the Carità and the adjacent Scuola della Carità, both buildings were subsequently modified to house the Accademia Galleries and the Accademia School of Fine Arts.
