Save Venice Announces Creation of the Fondazione Save Venice–ETS
October 2025
Save Venice is pleased to announce the establishment of the Fondazione Save Venice–ETS in Italy, equivalent to an American 501(c)3. The new foundation will work alongside Save Venice Inc. as a strategic vehicle to facilitate contributions from Italian companies and private individuals, benefiting from the tax incentives provided by national legislation.
The Fondazione is led by President Alberto Nardi, Vice-President Ferigo Foscari Widmann Rezzonico, and founding council members Frederick Ilchman, Beatrice Rossi-Landi, and Matteo Corvino.
Among the first projects promoted by the Fondazione Save Venice are restorations at Palazzo Ducale and the Scuola Dalmata. The foundation’s first institutional supporter is The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice, which renews its commitment following its multi-year contribution to Save Venice’s campaign for the Sala delle Quattro Porte.
On October 2, the Fondazione Save Venice was formally presented at the Save Venice office and the Rosand Library & Study Center at Palazzo Contarini Polignac. The event brought together representatives of cultural institutions, scholars, conservators, and community members, reflecting the strong and growing network of support for Save Venice’s mission.
