Per the Boston Chapter by-laws, the Annual General Meeting is open to all free of charge. If you would like to join the Executive Committee earlier from 6:15 to 7:00 pm for wine and hors d’oeuvres, there will be a charge of $40. Please send checks to: Save Venice Boston, Post Office Box 170302, Boston, MA 02117, or purchase online.
The first part of the evening will present an account of the Boston Chapter’s activities since the AGM of 2018, a review of restoration projects, a financial statement for the fiscal year, and the slate of officers for the 2019–20 Executive Committee, to be voted on by Save Venice members.
Following the meeting, guests will enjoy a talk on Titian’s “Europa”: Observations on the Painter’s Technique presented by Mr. Gianfranco Pocobene, Chief Paintings Conservator, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. In addition to his current project restoring Titian’s Rape of Europa, Pocobene oversaw the restoration of mural cycles at the Boston Public Library and directed the restoration of the John La Farge murals in the central tower of Trinity Church. He is also the Principal of Gianfranco Pocobene Studio in Malden, MA, which specializes in the conservation and restoration of paintings, murals, and historic interior paint decorations.
The Chilton Club requires coat and tie for gentlemen and appropriate attire for women.
