Exploring Titian’s Assunta: A New Interactive Website

Join Save Venice for the virtual launch of a new website dedicated to Titian’s Assunta in the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. This engaging tool offers an unparalleled overview of the Assunta and the discoveries that came to light during conservation treatment, and was generously funded by Claudia & Ferigo Foscari. Thanks to recent advances in digital photography and diagnostic imaging, users can observe and compare spectacularly high-resolution images of the altarpiece before, during, and after conservation, feasting their eyes on the Assunta’s colors and awe-inspiring details and also go beneath the painted surface and discover Titian’s original underdrawing, compositional changes, and artistic technique.
