Four luminaries from Boston’s Early Music scene join forces for Venice in Winter, a unique evening of music, conversation and fine dining. Performers Sophie Michaux, Catherine Liddell, Laura Jeppesen and Daniel Stepner present music from Venice in an intimate setting. The program features works by Monteverdi, Strozzi, Milanuzzi and Vivaldi, as well as others.
Proceeds will fund restoration of the polychrome wooden low-relief altarpiece depicting Saint George Fighting the Dragon (ca. 1452-54). Attributed to Venetian woodcarver Giacomo Moranzon, it was created for the confraternity Scuola Dalmata and its patron saint.
