San Marco

The sestiere of San Marco lies at the heart of the city.
San Marco runs along the Grand Canal from the eastern foot of the Rialto Bridge through the Accademia Bridge, and continues on to the canal behind the Basilica San Marco and Palazzo Ducale. Other landmarks include the church of San Salvador and the Teatro La Fenice and the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore.
