On November 3, Bostonians gathered to celebrate and support art preservation at their annual masked ball. This year’s event, themed An Enchanted Evening: Snow Falls on Venice, was held at the Harvard Club in Boston’s Back Bay. Festivities included cocktails, dinner, and dancing, all inspired by the enchantment of winter in Venice. Boston’s most glamorous patrons of the arts, led by co-chairs Lee Essex Doyle, Juan Prieto and Tracey Roberts, reveled in the spirit of Venetian Carnevale in black tie, ball gowns, and artfully decorated masks. The evening’s sponsors included Reserve Modern Event Rental, Paolo Costagli, Elizabeth Locke Jewels, and Maud Jewelry.
Proceeds from the event will enable the Boston Chapter to sponsor the restoration of the elaborately carved 17th-century wooden ceiling from Palazzo Nani. This Baroque ceiling is now installed in the Ca’ Rezzonico Museum, one of the most imposing palaces on the Grand Canal and later home to celebrated figures such as poet Robert Browning and songwriter Cole Porter.
